Aim of the CVC

The main task of the cluster is to maintain and to increase the competition power of the region’s Commercial Vehicle Industry. This is achieved by assisting co-operation, joint ventures as well as supporting the scientific and technical network of the market players in the Commercial Vehicle Industry. The Cluster currently includes companies, scientific institutions and institutes from the regions of Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Wurttemberg, Hesse, Bavaria, Saarland, Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia.

  • Initiation and organisation of co-operation between companies
  • Events and workshops for knowledge acquisition, communication and networking
  • Initiation and organising co-operation between companies and science (to accelerate the proceedings of innovations)
  • Participation in national and european competitions
  • Rectification/Alleviation of the skilled workers shortage
  • Public relations and image support

For example, technical top-class project groups within the Commercial Vehicle Cluster handle current technical and non-technical problems from the sectors of automotive electronics and IT, production systems, process optimisation, human resources management. Their findings are available to participating companies after conclusion.

The topical issues of the project work are proposed by the cluster partners as well as the shareholders and the advisory board and should be geared towards the aims of the cluster. However, the current problem areas and innovation targets of the industry and the region as such are relevant.

In addition, the cluster offers a network in co-operation with important decision makers from industry, science and politics which enabling a direct approach to the co-operative solving and work out of possible problems. The cluster supports those involved for optimal representation of their interests.

Partners get information about the current status, important industry-specific topics and future strategies in quarterly meetings and the annual meeting as well as from the cluster’s frequent newsletters. Furthermore, the cluster offers a platform for participating companies and institutions to present themselves and thus to initiate co-operation and to create new opportunities.
