The history of the CVC
Daimler AG, the University of Technology Kaiserslautern and the Ministry for
Economy, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture Rhineland-Palatinate founded
the CVC - Commercial Vehicle Cluster Südwest in 2005. The project has had
support from the start: the European Union supports the set-up of the clusters
financially. Members of the cluster are companies, research and development
institutions as well as the Palatinate Chamber for Industry and Commerce and
institutes for promotion of trade and industry in the south-western region.

Gaining momentum
The Commercial Vehicle Cluster – Nutzfahrzeug GmbH, founded in the
Spring of 2008, intends to boost the tempo of the cluster further.
Acting as first point of contact for all partners and all those
interested, its office is based in Kaiserslautern which is also home
to the Centre for Commercial Vehicle Technology of the University of
Technology and the Fraunhofer-Innovationscluster Digitale
Nutzfahrzeugtechnologie (DNT). Co-operation is of utmost importance.
